The second full day of USJE’s Equity Conference took place today in Halifax. USJE is a proud component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada. Consequently, it was an immense pleasure and privilege to welcome PSAC National President Sharon DeSousa who addressed the delegates.
USJE’s Equity Conference kicked off in Halifax, Nova Scotia this morning. Nearly 50 delegates and USJE elected officials from across Canada have gathered for the week-long event at the Westin Nova Scotian, Halifax’s most historic hotel.
USJE’s 2nd Equity Conference theme is Taking Action for Equity. The conference will be held May 27-30, 2025, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
On this day, USJE urges CSC to provide paid overtime to SMOs, as necessary
On February 5, 2025, USJE Equity Committee member Joe Brathwaite, who is a member of USJE Local 00079, was among invited guests to the official Government of Canada celebration for Black History Month 2025, in Ottawa.
The 2023-2024 Emerson Douyon Multiculturalism Award was bestowed upon the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC)- Ontario Region’s Black Social History (BSH) group during the Change of Command Ceremony held on October 23, 2024 in Toronto.

Following USJE’s CSC Indigenous members’ Town Hall and Roundtables, USJE has developed a survey for our CSC Indigenous members. If you are a CSC Indigenous member, please complete our survey by June 30, 2024.
