RCMP CM training begins mapping the future

RCMP Civilian Members (CMs), Union of Safety and Justice Employees (USJE) member champions and union representatives began mapping the way forward for integrating CMs into their future union at a training seminar in Ottawa January 9-10, 2018.

Next steps for RCMP civilian members

The deeming of RCMP civilian members (CMs) has been delayed, but PSAC and USJE are still working hard to ensure CMs receive the full benefits of union membership until they officially join the federal public service.

Deeming of RCMP civilian members postponed

Acting Commissioner of the RCMP Daniel Dubeau announced on November 27 that the deeming of RCMP civilian members into the federal public service and the transfer to the Phoenix pay system has been put on hold until further notice.

Delay transfer of RCMP Civilian Members to Phoenix

Nearly 4,000 RCMP civilian members (CMs) are slated to be deemed into the federal public service April 26, 2018. However, the Public Service Alliance of Canada strongly urges the Liberal government to avoid transferring the CMs to the troubled Phoenix pay system.
