RVP JP Surette visited USJE members in regional offices in Vancouver, Burnaby and Edmonton. Both the Courts Administration Service (CAS) and the Department of Public Safety have regional offices across Canada that are too small to constitute separate local unions. Each office has about 15 staff.
John Edmunds was awarded a USJE Honourary Membership during the recent National Executive Meeting held in Ottawa. John Edmunds’ history in USJE (formerly USGE) dates back to 1993. He held the positions of Section President, Local President, Regional Vice-President, National Vice President and the National President of USGE. John served 3 full terms as the USGE National President from 2005 to 2014.

RVP Sonia O’Brien-Colterman attended Ottawa – West Napean MP Anita Vanderbeld’s community event at Smithvale Stables this weekend. The two had a chance to discuss the on-going commitment by USJE to maintain and promote a nuanced and functional approach to telework for its membership.

National President David Neufeld and Regional Vice-President Zoe Johnston conducted two site visits with USJE members in Whitehorse, Yukon. The visit focused on the two locals from RCMP M Division Detachment and the Justice and Public Prosecutions Services of Canada (PPSC)
RVP Heather McKinnon met with Churchill – Keewatinook Aski MP Niki Ashton for a follow-up meeting after the two initially met earlier this spring.
